At the meeting this Friday, Steve will be presenting what he calls “Video Game Resource Recovery and Hacking.” After that we’ll be hanging out and picking some of the locks that Interlock has.
There is a meeting this Friday at 7pm. One of our members will be presenting on how he placed first in the New York Cyber Capture The Flag competition. If you haven’t heard about this, check it out here: http://www.uscyberchallenge.org/
UPDATE: pictures from the presentation:

At this month’s meeting, some of us will be working on the Interlock Warzone. This is a network dedicated to hacking. We have a dozen or so nodes on the network that have some kind of vulnerability. This could be a system missing a patch, a network service that’s misconfigured, or a web app with various attack vectors.
Attack things with your own tools or use the dedicated BackTrack host as a pivot for the rest of the network. Take a look at Interlock’s page for more info:
Friday the 18th, the DC585 and 2600 will be hosting a movie night. It’s called “Hackers Wanted” and is unreleased to the public. It was produced by Kevin Spacey’s production company but probably will never hit theaters. Luckily it somehow ended up as a torrent.
It’s about hackers and interviews some of the famous ones including Woz and Adrian Lamo. I don’t want to talk it up too much because it’s not the greatest movie in the world but I think it’s fun. We will have beers to compensate for the rest.
It’s on our calendar and Interlock’s.

Friday 18th @ 8pm.
Meeting will go as scheduled this Friday at 7:30pm. We’ll be playing with some new VM’s (DVWA, DVL, Vicnum, Metasploitable) we’ve setup and may be poking at http://hax.tor.hu with other members.
This month’s 1300 meeting will be this Friday at 7pm – 9pm at Interlock. Stop by and see what Jason has prepared.
This week a lot of us were approved for the Metasploit Express Beta program which gives access to the long awaited details of how Rapid7 and the Metasploit Project are going to merge. There will be a demo of the new product and features and hopefully have a few systems up to poke at with the tool.
Our regularly scheduled 3rd Friday meeting is cancelled. See you on May 7th.
Join us April 2nd at Rochester’s Hackerspace, Interlock. While Interlock participates in the First Friday event, we will be across the hall in suite #61 with a sign on the door. Feel free to stop into both as well as explore the Hungerford building while you’re there.
This Friday will be the second monthly 1300 Meeting. This was an idea started up a while ago by some members that wanted to meet more than once a month. It occurs the third Friday of every month and you can expect the same type of experience as a regular 2600 meeting.
If you would like to present this week or any future meetings, we’d love to have you. You can email AntiTree at this domain name.com to let us know.
